In parallel to the company direction, as proof of the commitment to protecting the environment, FENDI window props production suppliers began to explore sustainable alternatives on materials, aiming to reduce any potential environmental impact from production. The use of new recycled raw materials, the choice of certified production process and the use of eco packaging for shipment, are some key significant steps toward a more sustainable window displays.
Since 2021, the Visual Merchandising Team had adopted new approaches post- windows set up and have launched the Recycling & Upcycling scheme. It helps to minimize the environmental impact of windows displays by recycling upcycling, down cycling or disposing in an eco-friendly manner the window props and, at the same time, it lessens the amount of dispose waste in landfills for the local community. Recycling procedures were executed for China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Korea and Japan. In some selected projects, upcycling of used window props and transformation to new usable products have been done and donated to local charities, which include furniture, eco-bricks, canvas frames, tote bags and pencil cases.
Another example of sustainable approach in window design was expressed in Italy, for Milan Montenapoleone Store, during the Winter Capsule 2022. The project involved Fendi Visual Merchandising Windows Team together with Fur Atelier, Style, Product and Industrial team.
All Fendi outstanding craftmanship manifested in this special project focused on circularity, transformation and valorization of this precious material. The Festive concept was made of fur leftovers, transformed by our artisans, to create beautiful Fur Forest Trees. The aim of the project was not only transforming existing materials to create something unique to animate our store during Christmas period, but to give a new life to these exceptional pieces.
